When Gus Farwell was a theater major at ASU as well as the quarterback for Arizona State’s famous Rose Bowl team, he had a dream to one day perform on stage at ASU Gammage. Now, 26 years later, that dream is coming true.

After the applause at 8pm and for 65 days, there was silence. Shortly after "the tenor" appeared, and he gave us a little music from his balcony. One or two pieces, no more. He combined his opera repertoire with more popular songs (pop) and has thrilled us all.

After a failed audition in 2019, Gus Farwell was ready to give up on singing, until this unexpected journey ignited his passion for performing.

When Gus Farwell was a Sun Devil theater major, he slid into ASU Gammage through the loading docks and daydreamed about headlining a sold-out show at the venue.

The videos have gone viral, and there are plenty of them. Impromptu concerts and performances from balconies in Europe as they live under a strict quarantine. In Spain, one of those performers just happens to be a former Arizona State quarterback.
